Today I want to drop something in your spirits.  Ask God to create in you a clean heart that you may do his will and not yours.  We could make things better by doing God’s will, but the only way to do this is by having a clean heart.  So take this poem from the archives of Michael Darnell ‘Big Husky’ Roebuck.

 
 
create in me a clean heart Lord.
allow me to be what you desired of me from the door.
create in me a just mind, body , and soul.
for i have sinned against thee and thee alone.
create in me your word that it stays rooted in my spirit.
knowing that we have all sinned and come short, allow my
words and deeds to be of your truth and your spirit.
make haste to draw nigh as i draw nigh to you.
where my good will not be evil spoken of and
my actions be made truth.
create in me a clean heart.
that i pray even before trouble is to start.
create in me a clean heart that i be about my father’s business.
that no one can justifiably say ‘what is this mess.’
my God i beg your forgiveness,  for my repentance cries out to you
and only you Father.
for you will guide my path and lead me to be not a bother.
yes i ask for forgiveness Lord in all the trouble i may have
caused.
a clean heart is what i ask in my pause.
create in me a clean heart i know you will not fail.
for i am yours Lord and make better and a brand new Darnell.
i cry to you for what damage i may have started.
Lord i am made new by your stripes that will heal even this man who
is brokenhearted.
create in me.
