In The Midst Of Battle I Am Judah
14Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
15And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
16To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 18And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
19And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
20And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
I was reading this in conjunction with all of the sickness I have heard of. The death that has seemed to grip the land. The hell that some people are going through. I was in the midst of asking God what would you have me to say to your people. Judah means “PRAISE.” In this particular text I understand now. Jehoshaphat was facing an army of abut 10,000. He had 300 to fight with. This is amazing to me because God can do a lot with a little. I figured that God had forgotten me a time or two in my life. I was witnessing to a brother of mines on last week and I was telling him that you married her for better or for worse. He said to me this is the worst. I said for this particular time it is the worst. I said at 3 your worst was not getting snack. I said at 12 your worst was not looking good going to school. I said at 21 your worst was not being able to choose which club to go to. At 30 your worst is that you feel like your marriage is failing. I come here to tell you that everything you are going through starts with praise. Well hold up preacher what do you mean praise? Praise is the key to you defeating whatever you are going through. Praise is the way to get an answer from God. God will allow the devil to set up an attack just so he can show the devil that you will praise him. Ask Job what happened when he begin to really praise God despite what he was going through? He refuse to not believe God despite the circumstance. I have seen God do marvelous things. I went with my friend to a skating event on Tuesday night. We were leaving and he blessed me with some products from Walmart. We didn’t even really want to go. We were in line blessing the Lord with the people we knew and who we were talking to. There was a lady sitting in front of us and she was reading a book paying no attention to us so we thought. She turned around and looked at us and said these words “I am honored to be in your presence, because the spirit of the Lord is coming over me.” Then she proceeded to want to help us with Life Chronicles With Big Husky, her husband can help us. See my friend was feeling sick as a dog. I was worried about money for the show and different things for the show. God put us in Walmart where the armies of the devil seemed greater and allowed us to praise despite what we are going through in that praise not only did God give us answers to our prayers but he also begin to make my friend feel better simply because of the words of someone else’s testimony of how we reached her. What I am trying to say is this, Is your praise impacting those around you known and unknown? See Jehoshaphat is a king. See you have to understand your role in this battle. He is the king and he sets the tone but if he doesn’t hear from the Lord his kingdom will fail. Some of us no longer praise in spite of the circumstance so we often times have our kingdoms fall down right before our very eyes. If you would send your praise first before all else God would answer your prayer. What do you mean preacher? Well in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 13It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
14So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. If we are as one in our praise to God we can see the glory of Lord fill the place of pestilence, famine, dispair, hurt, anger, mistrust, fmaily problems, drug problems, lust, money problems, relationship problems, and many more things many of us on this list are dealing with. So that he can do this that happened in 2 Chronicles 20: 25And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. See you should be able to do better ministry for Christ that you recieve so many blessings you have no choice but to give some of your blessings to someone else that they might believe. I recieved some blessings in the last month which was more than enough for my household but enough to give them to 2 more households. See I am living in the overflow of God because of my willingness to praise him in spite of my circumstance. Will you praise with me? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. In my time in my car I listen to a lot of christian music be it rap, songs or choirs but I begin to praise in my secret place despite my situation because I realize it is my resonable service to show the people of God’s love no matter where I go. Have I gotten it right all of the time no. I am determined to make it a perfected praise. I am determined to become Judah. The Yes We Will Project is spear headed by the one and only Soap Opera star Davetta Sherwood. She did this project after being inspired by our brand new President Barack Obama came into office. After campaigning for him for months she saw the hurt, desolation, pain, and destitute way in which people lived. She wanted to not only be a part of something she wanted to do something. By doing something she made it happen with rally’s across the country. She stopped into Harrisburg Pa, with Dionne Renne and Angel Rhymes put together a fabulous show which had the Yes We Will Cheerleaders,Zeta Sigma Club, DNL, BiGSHA, Paper Lions, Mayoral candidates Honorable Linda Thompson, Honorable Mayor Stephen R Reed, and Les Stevens, and of course you know the show is not complete without giving the people something Husky.
